Class inequality drives the story behind this action-adventure title as guerrilla soldiers fight to free their island nation from a fascist dictator (voice of Giancarlo Esposito, who gives an outstanding performance). The struggle of the rebel protagonist players control — who can either be male (voice of Sean Rey) or female (voice of Nisa Gundez) — is probably justified, even according to the stringent conditions for armed resistance laid out in Catholic moral teaching, and choices can be made that lessen the body count he or she exacts. But the depiction of the many forms of brutality in which the regime engages makes this inappropriate fare for all except those grown gamers prepared to endure harsh mayhem. Playable on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Google Stadia and Windows. Much gory violence, including combat, child abuse, capital punishment and torture, narcotics use, images of prostitution, mature references, considerable rough and crude language. The Catholic News Service classification is L — limited adult audience, material whose problematic content many adults would find troubling. The Entertainment Software Rating Board rating is M — mature.
