Good people doing good things: Two hundred walkers participated in the Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s sixth annual Friends of the Poor Walk, Saturday, Sept. 24, on the grounds of St. Michael the Archangel, Glen Allen. The nearly $69,000 they raised to support the society’s outreach to the poor in the Richmond area was the largest amount raised among all of the the SVDP walks in the United States.

Living the faith: Charlottesville Catholic School held school-wide days of service Thursday and Friday, Oct. 27-28, during which students learned about community needs and provided services. Middle school students visited Camp Holiday Trails, Meals on Wheels, JABA and the SPCA. Elementary students worked on the school grounds, and provided crafts and notes to Alyssa House, UVA Hospital and Blue Star Families.
