Inspired by Greek mythology, this adventure game charts the experiences of a directionless college dropout and aspiring vocalist (voice of Laura Bailey) who, in a stroke of bizarre good fortune, suddenly inherits the powers of the last muse, Calliope (voice of Ashley Johnson), but is soon after accused by the some of the Olympian deities – led by Athena (voice of Felicia Day) – of having murdered her benefactress.
She’s allowed seven days to collect evidence and prove her innocence and employs her newfound ability to cause potential witnesses in the case to sing their true feelings to do so. While a couple of optional romantic subplots culminating in a same-sex kiss, along with a bit of vulgar dialogue, render this an unsuitable title for young people, mature players will appreciate its striking comic book-style animation and detailed character development as well as the wide array of choices with which it presents them.
Playable on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC. Nonbiblical religious themes, mild, mostly stylized violence with some blood effects, brief but benignly viewed lesbian activity, fleeting rough language. The OSV News classification is A-III — adults. Not rated by the Entertainment Software Rating Board.
