On March 23, Bishop Barry C. Knestout celebrated Mass at St. Stephen, Martyr, Chesapeake, then blessed renovations to the parish’s Ministry Center.
The project took about three years to complete, but the Ministry Center has now doubled in size, from eight rooms to 15 rooms, plus a large multipurpose room.
“The parish is growing, so we needed space to welcome new people,” said Barbara Harrington, liturgy director.
The new rooms are all named after saints, and there are two wings which are named for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and Pope St. John Paul II.
