Birthright of Norfolk prepares for Christmas in gratitude

As we approach the celebration of our Lord’s birth in this season of giving, Birthright of Norfolk wishes to thank Catholic parishioners and pastors across Hampton Roads for their generous support of Birthright since its founding in 1971.

Birthright empowers pregnant women to choose life for their child and make a plan for their future. The essence of the Birthright service is love, and that has been made possible over these 53 years (and counting!) thanks to support from the laity, priests, deacons, religious brothers and sisters, and Knights of Columbus. Over the decades, many have served with Birthright as volunteers, board members, and donors.

During our relocation within Norfolk this summer, members of St. Pius X in Norfolk and Catholic High School in Virginia Beach came out in force to help us move and set up our new office. Now, Mary’s Joy Ministry at Blessed Sacrament in Norfolk is working to revive our maternity clothing closet.

Catholic parishioners continue to bless Birthright and the families we serve, through baby showers, fundraisers, financial gifts, and many hours of volunteerism. Their devotion to mothers and infants has been a true gift to Birthright. We thank all who are a part of Birthright’s story. Indeed, their works give life to our mission.
