Canvas for Catholic art (above, below): On Saturday, Nov. 9, parishioners from the Cluster Parishes of Portsmouth and Chesapeake gathered at the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk for a tour of Catholic art and iconography. Senior docents Cindy White and Maureen Harms (parishioners at Church of the Holy Family, Virginia Beach, and Sacred Heart, Norfolk) tailored the tour especially for the Cluster Parishes, explaining the Catholic influences behind the art pieces. The event was such a success, they hope to schedule another tour next year.

Christmas cheer for our elders (below): Volunteers at Sacred Heart, Norfolk, gathered for a Christmas workshop Nov. 18 to write Christmas cards for the elders. Nine volunteers wrote to 45 parishioners, a few friends, and the staff. This is the third year volunteers have written cards; the group started with four members and has more than doubled. “Our elders will enjoy knowing we are thinking and praying for them and their families at Christmas,” said one volunteer. The atmosphere was festive with red and green tablecloths, sweet treats, and hot beverages.
