Two seminarians for the Diocese of Richmond, Deacon David Arellano and Deacon Seth Seaman, received the Call to Orders on Tuesday, April 9, at the Pastoral Center, Richmond.
Both seminarians served at Mass at the Pastoral Center afterwards, celebrated by Bishop Barry C. Knestout, and concelebrated by Father Michael Boehling, vicar general; Father Matthew Kiehl, vicar for vocations; Father Timothy Kuhneman, vicar for clergy; Father Eric Ayers, pastor of St. Bede, Williamsburg, and vicar for Eastern Vicariate; and Father Kenneth Shuping, pastor of St. Bridget, Richmond, and vicar for Central Vicariate.
At the end of Mass, Bishop Knestout told both deacons: “I’m grateful for your generosity and willingness to serve the Church. There’s a lot to be done.”
Deacon Arellano and Deacon Seaman will be ordained to the priesthood on Saturday, June 1, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Richmond.
