St. Meinrad Day of Service (above): March 9 was the 10th annual St. Meinrad Day of Service, when alumni and friends around the country conduct acts of service in their communities. A group of more than 30 people – mainly from Immaculate Conception, Hampton – helped clear Elmerton Cemetery and Bassett Cemetery, two historic African American cemeteries in downtown Hampton.
Light a candle for Ukraine (below): St. Paul, Richmond, is collecting money for Catholic Relief Services’ humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine. A votive candle stand was placed in the old baptistry of the church. Parishioners and visitors are invited to light a candle, say a prayer for the Ukrainian people, and make a donation. So far, about $1,100 has been collected.
