An update of two titles launched in 2006, this double revamp finds players taking on the persona of a young collector of the titular imaginary fauna. Recruited by a scientist who studies the evolution of the creatures to capture, catalogue and train as many of them as possible, the protagonist comes into conflict with a nefarious organization seeking to remake the entire environment for their own benefit. Along with the primary adventure, there are also side games, such as contests in which the initially wild but eventually pet-like beings compete against one another in a variety of categories. The enjoyable remake includes plenty of quality-of-life improvements and is suitable for all. Playable on Nintendo Switch. The Catholic News Service classification is A-I — general patronage. The Entertainment Software Rating Board rating is E — everyone.
