The Virginia Catholic Conference has named Christopher Ramos as new associate director.

Mr. Ramos has previous legislative staff experience at the Virginia General Assembly and communications experience, including work as an educator and copywriter.

Raised and educated in Richmond, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Virginia Tech and a Master of Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Mr. Ramos is an “outstanding addition to our team,” said Jeff Caruso, executive director of the VCC.

“Chris brings an excellent package of communication skills and a high level of enthusiasm for Catholic social teaching,” he added. “To say that I look forward to working with him would be an understatement.”

Asked to comment on his new post, Mr. Ramos explained, “I believe that our Catholic faith contributes a unique and essential voice on matters of public policy, and I look forward to clearly and passionately advocating on behalf of the Church within the Commonwealth of Virginia.”

The three-member staff of the VCC, the public-policy agency of Richmond Bishop Francis X. DiLorenzo and Arlington Bishop Paul Loverde, consists of the two policy advocates and office manager Lynne Liggan.
